Ummm xir do you have a source on that or something along those lines?
It's just fucking obvious if you watch the show, he's the angelic (demonic) deceiver of the heroes who infiltrates their garden of eden and almost destroys it. "Oh but he actually ended up liking shinji" no the point is we don't know if he actually developed a heart and liked shinji and humanity or if it was just another one of his tricks and he is just as disinterested as the other angels. This builds on the anxiety Shinji has over if anyone actually likes him for himself and not for his skills.

I have grown a little over the years. Mostly abandoning my anger in favor of reclusiveness, although you can still see it come to the surface every now and then.

Prequels?
Also I met several chicks in my life that were fujoshis and fetishized the kaworu-shinji thing which was not how I interpreted it at all. I view kaworu like ET in that hes an alien trying to make a bond with someone totally different from him. Japs have a hard time making humans act like monsters unless they go in the direction of Elfen Lied, Bokurano, Re:Zero, Berserk, and other grimdark series so they lean into turning a normal guy into a supervillain over one episode which is what kaworu really was. He was useful in EoE for giving an alternative to Rei that Shinji would be comfortable with but until 3.33 many years later, he left a lot to be desired as a character. "Anywhere can be heaven as long as you choose to live" is still an awesome quote thoughbeit, one that a lot of younger people need to remember as they grow up.
My bad, I meant reboots.
Yeah, the whole "Kaworu acting gay" thing was because he didn't really have a conception of human boundaries being an angel and all (again, big theme of the show) so he didn't really understand that some of the things he did with Shinji seem gay. Shinji himself, only accepts this behavior because he is so lonely. Although I think it is left ambiguous whether Kaworu is tricking Shinji or if he is actually caring about Shinji, but the idea that they were gay lovers is a total reach. Then again these are the same morons who claim that Achilles and Patroclus, or Alexander and Hephaestion, were gay lovers because they were two unrelated men who cared about each other.

There really seems to be a sort of women who is very unapparent in real life but is quite vocal online, that is essentially a pedophile. Like I remember on a 'fe thread people were posting here they all loved anime teenage boys. No women in real life are really like this, it's strange.

Rei, then Gendo

Yeah and the personal journey she makes through the series is very interesting too.
This and
Are two of my favorite scenes in the series.
What are you talking about dude. She doesn't actually change at all in the original series and just serves as a plot device just like she exists as in-universe (basically a flesh puppet). She only undergoes some development in the reboots which are bad and are the unpleasant residue of a truecel ascending...

She goes from an unthinking golem to sacrificing her life to save someone else. Not to mention in EoE she defies the only person that she liked at the beginning of the series to side with his son, starts instrumentality, then stops it and dies right after just to help out Shinji. And that's not getting to the rebuilds yet. Her character development is muted and not as flashy as Asuka's or Shinji's but she is incredibly well written and inspired many hundreds of other characters in other anime for a good reason.

The Rebuilds are truely a glistening, genre re-defining gemeral, my mind was blown away like Ronnie McNutt when I watch xhem o algo
Gooned to the jiggle physics award ^ ^ ^ ^

I mean, seriously... "The eva robots just make it so that we stay 14 years old forever because... IT JUST DOES OK!!??!?!?! Also let's have Asuka's shirt off for an entire movie!"

If you guys like the rebuilds, you need to watch the original series again and really digest its message because it is not at all what the message of the rebuilds is, and I think the author is honest about this iirc.
If you've seen 4.0, the slice of life section in the town is really good too.
"I like 4.0 Rei" is different than "I like Rei (canon)". They're very different, 4.0 Rei is fleshed out specifically because of popular demand, just like how Akira Toriyama fleshes out Bejita-San because he is a fan favorite and not really because he cares that much about Vegeta's character development. Not that I would ever compare Vegeta to Rei, Vegeta is 10000 times better as a character.

The greatest character in the show is Shinji, but he's liked mostly by faggots and femgooners who try to insist he is gay. They obviously do not understand the show at all as I believe I already discussed, but Shinji is the best character because the show is about his realization of good principles -- do you duty in this world, do not run away from your problems, and to exist is worth it even if it entails pain. I agree with DOLL though that Gendo is a solid second best.

The rebuilds are bad... THE REBUILDS ARE BAD!!!! Please trust me on this one. I thought it was well-known fact but apparently some like the rebuilds? WHAT THE SCALLOP?

Rei betrays her master because her designated purpose was to start instrumentality and Gendo had his own ambitions. She does give Shinji the choice of instrumentality or non-instrumentality albeit. But she was always willing to sacrifice her life.
