May 21st, 2025: My only ‘weekday’ of the week (as in I don’t have any work or volunteering to do) so I started off my day by uploading my daily Biblejak. It was kind of drizzling all throughout the day. So I took the bus to this place where another bus route ended and then immediately got on the second bus, it took over an hour for it to go to the end and while I talked with this girl on snapchat who told me about her new place that she was moving into soon (same girl I invited to the event that happens today) and that she wanted to also visit my new place. There was also this discussion in the family groupchat:
<Good Morning Coach Garnet! Congrats! What formation did you use and how did you approach the match psychologically? - Dad
<Very impressive! - Mom
<Gemerson, I checked out that organization on their website. Very impressive with the work they are doing. Good for you! - Mom
<Ditto here! Sounds like you can help make a difference especially in these times! - Dad
<Garnet are you up yet? - Dad
<Now I am - Sister
<4-5-1 then switched to a 3-5-2 - Sister
<Interesting choice given the score. Please keep a coach's log to track your success. - Dad
I finally got off the bus once it was all the way in the south of the county. I walked over to the Pick N Save and browsed around for a while until deciding to get some sushi and this Japanese melon soda for my lunch, I had to walk around for a while to find a good place to sit and eventually decided on sitting outside of this McDonalds, I sat under this shade thinking I wouldn’t be wet but they used a mesh to let sunlight in. I wiped off this green plastic block used as a seat and kneeled on it in typical Japanese fashion. I had rain occasionally drop on my tray and I just ate it as fast as I could. I got up and back on the bus while finishing my drink. James and I discussed paying for an upgraded Internet plan through Venmo. I took the bus all the way back to its northern starting point and then instantly hopped over to the first bus because I got super lucky. I walked home and then played some more modded Terraria in the meantime. I decided to get dressed for Wednesday mass. I hopped on the bus and then walked over to the place where dinner was usually served but it was locked despite the lights being on. I asked the girl who promised me she would be here this week if she would come and she said she can’t because she needs to pack. I knew that she was going to invent an excuse to not come and I was right. I took a short walk and eventually came back to be let in by Father Malachi. I cleaned up the place a bit when Malachi asked me where I worked and I told him. He remembered and asked me if I went to the original owner’s funeral so I told him that I didn’t because I had German class then. I was told to look out for a car bringing food and eventually I gave the signal:
“We got a car coming!”
So Father Malachi came out and brought in the food. There were 6 total people that came to the event, not including the priest but including Sideburns. We talked about how the numbers dropped due to people leaving after college was done and eventually my confirmation priest came over so I asked him:
“How does it feel knowing that you are going to Rome soon?”
He replied:
“It’s an assignment.”
I eventually made my way over to the church and got in line for confession. The girl in front of me gave me a weird look so I just gave her the death stare to deal with her. After a bit the priest finally arrived and we made our way through confession. My confession was short and the priest talking to me had it short so I just left after a bit to pray my decade of the rosary for my penance. I made my way back and sat all the way in the front. Naomi wasn’t there but Sideburns was sitting next to his cousin and Elizabeth was nearby. Sometimes there are these three nuns that come, one’s super old and needs a cane, the other one is slightly younger, and the third one is Black, the oldest one gave me a mean look which made me unhappy with her. There was this other girl who would go up to do the readings later on that I glanced at and she gave me a fake smile, which just sat in my mind, I have never known her or interacted with her before yet people are clearly talking about me, I wanted it to fucking stop immediately. I just sat in silence during the prayer before the actual mass started. The main presider was the priest from the Thursday Eucharistic adoration who introduced me to Norah. His homily was on Catholic flirting and dating, so I will be calling him Father Valentine. One Saint he mentioned during his homily was José Luis Sánchez del Río (March 28th, 1913 – February 10th, 1928) and him being the first saint photographed during his martyrdom. But Either I’m misremembering things, or he got José Ramón Miguel Agustín Pro Juárez otherwise known as Blessed Miguel Pro (January 13th, 1891 – November 23rd, 1927) mixed up with Sánchez. He said he was going to be re-assigned to Colorado in two weeks but I was glad he was giving the homily instead of that priest from last week. There were only 3 priests today as compared to the usual 4, Father Valentine, Father Malachi, and this newly ordained priest (not the one I had given my confession to). We got in line to receive communion. I went back and then we walked over to the meeting place, I knew where it was so I held open the door for others to come, the girl who read for that day thanked me and I whispered to her:
“I know what a fake smile is.”
I held it open for a bit more before finally heading in, I first talked to Sideburns and his cousin before walking around a bit, I talked with Elizabeth and then wandered around because I felt blown off by everybody until this guy named Quinn decided to talk to me, we talk a bit and then I go over and encounter this one girl who I meet that has been going to this event for 4 years and told me she just graduated high school and that she planned to study architecture. I then decided to try to get Sideburns, his cousin, the architecture, and Elizabeth to talk together and them along with a few other people, we formed an ellipse and the topic of this dance happening on Friday was brought up, this other girl was complaining about how guys didn’t ask girls to dance anymore and she mentioned that when girls are all grouped up guys wouldn’t actually ask them to dance normally, but only do as a dare, I tried to intercede.
“From our perspective…”
I said it two times but they just ignored me and I got so frustrated that I went elsewhere, I wasn’t encountering any hostility beforehand. I got a strawberry shortcake and ate it while I saw the newly ordained priest give out blessings, I got one from him and then walked back over to Elizabeth asking if she drives near where my house is on her way home, she said she didn’t so ended up talking to this cuter woman about this mission service and half about her life, I foolishly felt confident and asked her for her number and she told me it would be better to install this app, I installed it but never opened it and the moment she got distracted with talking to Elizabeth, I sneak-dashed out of there and walked home, the bus skipped my stop before I could even cross the street to get to it so I just walked home and along the way, I smelled some Indian guys while they were smoking all the way from the porch of their house. I got home and had a shot of limoncello before taking a shower and falling asleep.
