Because they saw netflix and wanted a piece of the pie and split off from netflix thus reverting back to the old problem with cable tv in the past

and because of netflix netflix started to struggle thanks to increased competition and they tried seeing if they could get away with disallowing sharing netflix accounts and they succceded however they are still struggling

the competition is not safe either because they are struggling thanks to each other and competition they even tried copying netflix by not allowing account sharing but that didnt work

Eventually people might get tired again of this problem and go back to piracy
