This is exactly what I've been saying for forever now, it would be redundant to axe the app when so many clones and copies have been made since it's launch, it started with musical.ly which technically didn't die but rather just got merged with TikTok, I suppose Vine would've been the start of it all but it's just so different from TikTok in it's execution, it would've been best to delete the app from the public subconscious sometime back in 2019 or as late as early 2020, not in 2025.

If TikTok dies then people will move to another chinese spyware app (they did, it was Rednote) or they'll start using Instagram Reels or Youtube Shorts or whatever the fuck.

Not to sound too much like a contrarian, but I never got the appeal of these kind of apps.
I've known about TikTok ever since it launched back in 2018 and I've only voluntarily visited the website two times maybe? from that point up until now in 2025. I don't care for that kind of shit, I've only used Youtube Shorts a handful of times but it's almost always pointless drivel that is just poorly condescened information that could've been fleshed out more in a full length video rather than poorly abbreviated for the masses so that people can feel like they know more about a given thing, when they only watched a fifteen second clip talking about a miniscule portion that doesn't even scratch the surface of that thing.
