went to download some gems on tiktok that i had saved just now and this came up
This is exactly what I've been saying for forever now, it would be redundant to axe the app when so many clones and copies have been made since it's launch, it started with musical.ly which technically didn't die but rather just got merged with TikTok, I suppose Vine would've been the start of it all but it's just so different from TikTok in it's execution, it would've been best to delete the app from the public subconscious sometime back in 2019 or as late as early 2020, not in 2025.i remember hearing that tiktok being banned wont change anything, because every other social media platform now has their own tiktok copy

If TikTok dies then people will move to another chinese spyware app (they did, it was Rednote) or they'll start using Instagram Reels or Youtube Shorts or whatever the fuck.
He'd probably call it "SoyClicks" or "SoySnaps">inb4 froot makes a tiktok copy

Still Chinese-owned, actually. An app called Rednote has taken 'toks placeStill brainwashing, just American owned
Not to sound too much like a contrarian, but I never got the appeal of these kind of apps.I don't use tiktok or any short form content so Idrc
