alright now heres my opinion:
i think it was bad for it to be banned. sure, it does cause a lot of brainrot, but by no means should the platform itself be banned
i especially hate the new slang and how the content has effected the (((people))) at my school, i hear the same phrases over again, the same annoying shit songs, and they get more lazy and make worse choices (though this could be instagram influence)
the memes we got from tiktok this year were stupid, the properties in egypt, eye of rah, and chopped chin are all just alternate hood irony
the only actual reason tiktok was banned is because of lobbying from pro-israel organizations and zuck, both for their own benefit (force people to use social medias that can easily be influenced by lobby money, have people flock to instagram to get more active users)
if tiktok was getting banned, it should have been a month or 2 after it came up, at this point, its already integrated itself into american society well, and now other media platforms will have to adapt to the tiktok colonization, the content on other platforms is going to change a lot because of it. other platforms with shortform content have totally different algorithms, audiences and content from tiktok
even worse, its going to be harder for people to promote their own content now that tiktok is banned, its quite literally how all the roblox games get popular and how anything gets popular really
also i see a lot of these opinions are outdated, most of the problematic stuff is from the early days of tok, and mobile game footage is dead. whatever you see on tiktok is entirely reliant on what you make your algorithm to be, as they say, "i built this fyp brick by brick"
