are you guys religious?
sometimes i dont know what to think anymore regarding if there is a god or not, i was raised an atheist, and for a long time i didnt really question if there was a god up there because i was told that ackshually le science created us all!!
but these recent years ive been feeling more confused. I dont really know what to think anymore, and I find myself leaning more towards theistic agnosticism.
sometimes i wish there was some kind of afterlife but i feel like its very unlikely, and its scary to think that one day we will die, we will become a lifeless corpse and every one of our memories will fade away in seconds, the idea of some kind of heaven and hell (or just any kind of afterlife) existing feels like a way to cope with this fear and to keep people in line, but sometimes i wonder if the people who claim these places are real are actually right.

I'm sorry I find theology interesting but I lose 90 IQ points whenever I browse this beautiful website, thus putting me below -40IQ, because even at my best I'm still a dumbass.

>the idea of some kind of heaven and hell (or just any kind of afterlife) existing feels like a way to cope with this fear and to keep people in line

The idea of not existing sounds much more pleasant to me than some unknown afterlife

So I could just as easily argue that the idea of not existing after death is a way for atheists to cope with the fear of an afterlife

Maybe it is for some. I’m sure a lot of people, Christian or atheist, are coping
