Annoying. Frustrating. Headache-inducing.

Back in my day, for something like this, say Skype or Teamspeak or Crossfire or Steam, it would go as follows: "Hey bro, can I add you?" one man would say, "Sure, do you also like to play XYZ?" etc, etc. But nobody wants to do this. Everyone INSISTS on having these great big Discord servers with every single person imaginable, it is not for a project, or for a particular game you and they people you have met on the Internet. It is simply not used for any sort of socialization or perhaps anything like that. Maybe because I am older I have a more traditional mindset about these things, but this is how it used to be.
I was a bit disappointed to see people who made the excellent gems that even I myself have posted. It instead always devolves into this drama and gossip mindset like women with nothing better to do. Nothing productive, nothing useful, no original content, just drama and gossip. Perhaps it is an age thing, or the generally younger user base here, I have seen some great talent, but the talent is very strong and very much outweighs the others. I do not know, that is what I have to say about the situation.

discord is awful because there are simply way too many people and conversations get buried super fast with complete garbage. also, you’ve probably never noticed this, but i feel like they’re desperately trying to push this “chatroom” vibe with how the website looks.

What? I am not complaining about the app, I am complaining about how people use these things

I've only ever used discord for gaming servers or to talk with IRL friends or pre-existing internet friends, it would make sense namefags would try to replace socialization with a giant discord server where everypony is added for slop points because why not.

And that is what it is intended for, public servers for things like Teamspeak always existed, but the problems never got to this extent. I have noticed as well that older users of these sites know how to use these properly, while younger users do not.

Unfortunately Discord is a conglomerate now, every single youtuber, every single minecraft mod, every single old forum that could have stayed a forum died out because of this bullshit, but also people growing up. There is really no alternative and it sucks. Skype got raped by Microsoft and it isn't coming back i'd say. And especially amongst zoomers (majority of the sharty's userbase) i don't feel like many of them even have Skype anymore, or have ever even used Teamspeak. It sucks.

One thing i genuinely don't understand however is why soyteens use these servers. If you WANT to have an identity, literally use this place. Is this the main selling point of Discord? Just attention? I just don't know. All this negative reputation is has, why does it still drive people to use sharty related servers, atleast for me i don't care if people use discord, if they use it to talk to friends or find new internet connections, but once people join sharty related servers it becomes a problem. It is a place the sharty cannot control thus it will always have the worst of the worst lurking around there. Pretty much like splinters.

What can you do... I think in this situation especially many people that were actually innocent and didn't try to do anything got banned, they weren't aware of what was going on, they still did join a server like that, i think a good proposition would be, for people like hamas or anyone else really who was banned in this wave that they permanently leave these sharty discord servers behind and forget about it, because it really just brings bad influence, and does no good.

Jokes aside she's right, we can't let the soy community fall into the hands of 'corders no matter how big this ancient enemy that has been with us since /qa/ gets.
If something looks suspicious, investigate it, because there's a good chance a 'cord pedo may be behind it

It is not even that, if it was small groups of people who just liked similar things, this would not be a problem, but it evolves into this great monster that is an irritant.
