3rd world shitholes that are practically owned by germansWhat if the pagan in the scandinavians were left alone and allowed to create their own soyciety by the christians
i thought they would be advanced and not be like india?3rd world shitholes that are practically owned by germans
we wouldnt have school shootingswhat if wypipo seasoned dey food
the reason they wouldn't is because europe would be constantly crusading them and seeing them as no better than muslims or jews, look at how the northern crusade wrecked the shit out of the balts and made lithauania convert so that the teutonic order can leave them alone.i thought they would be advanced and not be like india?
actually, though these are wordswordswords, i would be very content in that timelineI should elaborate on how the Mauryas can wipe out Hinduism. First off when Ashoka marries Devi (who is a part of the Shakya clan like the Buddha), Ashoka takes some more interest in Buddhism and around the time a bunch of ministers put him on the Maurya throne over his older brother Susima and defeating him in the following brief civil war, he starts propagating Buddhism and favoring it over proto-Hinduism and Jainism. Next Ashoka WILL either completely avoid invading Kalinga or delay it to instead invade Tamilakam (Think the Cheras, Cholas, Pandyas, and Pallavas) and take the time to integrate them into the empire, but if and when he does invade Kalinga, he WILL make sure it doesn't become a bloodbath because in our timeline he was so shaken in how bloody the Kalinga campaign was he disavowed war, maybe he'd still be a bit shaken by it and want to stop conquering, but he WILL NOT become a pacifist as to not weaken the empire's defensive capabilities. Third is that Ashoka has to make sure he appoints an heir and a competent one at that so that the succession crisis in OTL that happened doesn't happen thus not allowing the Hindu revival movement that formed in opposition to Ashoka's policies to be able to entrench themselves with the best candidate for the job being Mahinda which Ashoka tried to make his heir in our timeline but failed, and if Ashoka fought a little harder or convinced him that ruling the empire could help bring many more people to Buddhism, Mahinda might reluctantly accept to be heir, though he would still do missionary efforts in Sri Lanka due to fears from Ashoka of him being killed, but when news of Ashoka's death reaches Mahinda, he would have to quickly return to Pataliputra, raise some armies and put down some revolts and likely killing some bhramins (a good thing btw) who are involved, which should be possible if Mahinda plays his cards right (such as possibly allowing any caste to become a general if they have the talent or even join the army in the first place which would screw over Brahmanist rebellions who would be forced to implement the same reforms or risk incompetent Kshatriya commanders getting crushed if the larger manpower Mahinda would have from recruiting Dalits into the army doesn't already). With that now all that's left to lead to Hinduism being driven into extinction is time, as the Hindu revival movement fizzles out and syncretism occurs as Hindu gods are generally left alone under Buddhism, more and more people in India profess themselves as buddhists (Theravada is my best guess to be the largest school in india in this timeline) and by the 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th century AD what would've became Hinduism would only be practiced in some remote communities so expect the last Brahmanist to die or convert to Buddhism, Christianity, Islam, or something else in the high middle ages or the late middle ages. Back to the Maurya period they're not gonna last forever, I give them until the 3rd century AD at the most but I could see them lasting somewhat longer if things go right for them, where in that time they reach their peak stretching from the himalayas in the north to sri lanka in the south and from the western satrapies to the mountains in myanmar + the andaman and nicobar islands in the east and the Samrat Chakravartin of the Maurya empire would be one of 3 men that controll the majority of the world's population (the other two being the Emperors of Rome and the Han Emperor) and the terror of the Parthians due to sheer size. During this around 446ish extra years of Maurya rule not only would Buddhism spread across the empire but also a unitary magadhi culture with magadhi prakit starting to spread across india like how Latin did in the Roman Empire (the Mauryas were already the closest India had to something like Rome) with magadhi prakit potentially even replacing Sanskrit as a liturgical language across India and magadhi dialects beginning to develop across india. However there would be cracks beginning to form in the empire likely needing to hire barbarians into the army, incompotent rulers, economic woes, and other issues that finally become a problem thanks to the three kingdoms period in China rocking the silk road and the rise of the Sassanids who would gladly exploit a declining Maurya empire to take the eastern satrapies and the indus as the empire unravels and from there new kingdoms and empires would rise and fall in india claiming the maurya legacy. As for India culturally it would be far more alien (more civilized thoughbeit) compared to our India today, if there is a pakistan, bangladesh, maldives, or sri lanka in the modern day is debatable as the point of divergence would be thousands of years behind this timeline. As for buddhism itself the big change could be in east asia, as already Buddhism west of the Mauryas would fizzle out in favor of Christianity and Islam, and in East Asia it had to play nice with local religious belifs, but the massive political ties to the Mauryas could mean the Chinese trinity of Confucianism, Taoism, and Buddhism might be delayed in its formation if at all even with schools other than theravada meaning buddhism would mostly be in south-east asia, tibet, and as a minority in china which could allow a religion like manichaeanism to become very influential filling that void.
Then "The Truman Show" would've been named "The Kennedy Show" in that universe o algoWhat if truman actually got assassinated by Puerto Rican nationalists?View attachment 22564
