Very serious ðŸ‡·ðŸ‡ºðŸ‡·ðŸ‡º I wanna learn Russian. 🇷🇺🇷🇺

This tag connotates the discussion as something much more serious than a regular Serious tag.
As for pronounciation, I have trouble with p and e, I say e like eh sometimes and accidentally think в is B and not v and that p is p and not r.
Overall, easier than Japanese, that's for sure.

I've heard that Clozemaster is good, but the best way to learn language is immersion. Really getting deep into it, consuming russian content, speaking to russians etc. etc.

How do you guys feel about gamified learning? I can't really say it doesn't work because it actually does and it is kind of addictive.
The leaderboard in duolingo is exactly like that one scene from Malcolm in the Middle

Still a kiddy tranny app ngl.

just use anki and get some addon that gamifies it or something, there are a couple of em
duolingo is shit

Why is duolingo bad?
Because its focus is to get you hooked, not to teach you anything. They have actively been removing features over the years to make the app more gamey and less and less useful as an actual learning tool.
There's no reason why you should use it.

But its fun though. There's no reason to complete TF2 Contracts, you just get a shitty hat you won't like thats not worth anything anyways, and yet I still do them.
Not like I've got anything better to be doing. So I might aswell use it, even if it's for a little while, while I study anki on the side, and plus, anki is similar to duolingo, I'd say, but just a lot more of a hassle. The Russian Deck I have doesn't really teach you things in order of a topic, it just throws stuff at you randomly and I find it hard to remember.

Russian is a language that is too complicated to be learning on duolingo. Duolingo doesn't teach you anything, it just throws random sentences at you.
And it's just so slow and inefficient, you have to spend like 5 hours clicking the buttons until you unlock words that are not in the order of "dog", "mom", "boy", etc.
You say you have nothing to do, then find a better way to do things lol

I don't feel too comfortable schooling you on this stuff though, I'm not in a position to be doing so.

Nah. It's actually easier than I thought.

The sentences teach you words and how to use them.

No, you spend about 5 minutes or so doing it. You're not skipping ahead? I usually just learn 5 lessons of the first unit, then skip to the review.

Why are you posting here again?

If it works for me, it's not broken and if it aint broke, I aint fixin it.

Better to torrent some textbook or at least go to a library than to use duolingo. I never learned anything from it.

I'm learning words using it, so I find it pretty handy. Even though the words it's teaching me are kind of basic, like молоко or повор as of right now on Section 1.
It's only been 4 days anyways, you guys act like I'll learn russian within a week or something.

For an experiment, I'll speedrun duolingo, I'll time it, do the math, just for fun or something like that.

Why are you posting here again?
Because I also tried and failed to learn russian and I'm mildly into language learning.
Also just because I can post wherever the fuck I want ::selfish::

textbooks are for women and posers

You didn't fail. You already know some russian, you didn't just lose all of your progress.
I think you're too down on yourself and projecting that onto me.

Why does it feel like you're on the defensive here
