Don't listen to him - IT has the highest unemployment due to all the opportunists taking IT as a career due to (what was) a high hiring rate. The market changed, AI has replaced the mediocre programmers so now you have to stand out in order to get a job. Take it from me, my brother is almost 30 - still trying to get a PhD in CS and got laid off at his main job as an Uber programmer. Now he's scrambling to work in character.ai (kek), FROM AN IVY LEAGUE UNIVERSITY. Unless you actually have an deep interest for Computer Science, it's not worth itdepends on where you live in. Where i live anything having to do with farming has slowly disappeared and become hard to find a job for, but on the contrary anything to do with IT has exploded and the demand for workers is high with no jeets around to take the jobs.
Try to think of more than two options o algo, because maybe farming will for you too.
to be honest the only people who are out of a programming job due to AI are CRUD jeets, anyone who's worth half an iq point more still has value in the job market.Don't listen to him - IT has the highest unemployment due to all the opportunists taking IT as a career due to (what was) a high hiring rate. my brother is an electrical engineer, he works in globohomo central over at IBMWhat would you say about Electrical Engineering?
i believe that the jeet plague will go away eventually, it's more evident day by day that almost every jeet college is just a degree mill and that jeetland degrees are worthless. Also don't underestimate pajeets. Outsourcing to India happens due to a lower cost of labour, and if the cost of labour outweighed the opportunity cost of lower quality programming they would've stopped long ago. Jeets being programmers has increased the competitiveness of the IT industry by a lot, thus lowering average salary for 1st world countries as well. You'd need a PhD or a Master's from an ivy league to even reach low 6 figures.
