I used to think Discord was a decent site for communication because it encouraged real-time interaction and the whole premise is that it's based around the "social" aspect of social media, but it really doesn't do shit for me anymore.

Oh. I hate to be rude but maybe you just don't have the right friends. It feels the same for me. I love it.

Online friends simply aren't for me. Over my life I've met probably around 10-15 people I could consider close friends (at some point, not all at the same time). I'm a little stunted in that regard but I don't think it's a huge problem.
Out of curiosity though where/how did you meet your friends online?

Discord is only good for a small gangs of like 20 guys tops where there's no need for rules high cohesion and random SNCA topics in chat besides beer and vidya every friday/saterday

I think it's a "black hole" site at this point. A site everybody apparently uses but nobody actually cares about or uses themselves, just like with sites such as TikTok, this shit actually confuses 4channers because they wonder "where did everybody go" in regards to social media, but the answer is that they went to those black hole sites.
Most people use Twitter or Reddit, sometimes even Facebook. But those sites barely prioritize actual communication anymore.
