I'm not a parent, but i feel like the real parental love would be doing everything to help your child succeed rather than killing 70 of your own kids to put one on easy mode.
Eugenics can definitely be out of love (I imagine) in some cases, but that many re-rolls seems like complete apathy towards their unborn children more than anything else.
If it was just about making sure they aren't utterly disabled, it wouldn't have taken 70 tries.
Moreover, if you really believe in Eugenics you'd stop trying to spread the genes that somehow lead to 70 "failed" offspring in a row. The one that makes it is still going to have that shit DNA (assuming the 70 dead cracker babies were actually defective and not just "not perfect")

I feel like the parents wouldn't go through this much trouble if the state they lived in banned abortion. (either way they would probably release their ""failed"" children in an adoption center) I still find it weird some parents decide to take care of children that will, statistically, never grow up to be a functioning adult (infants born with microcephaly and ancephaly, for example. They will never do anything except breathe and stay in the same place like a useless vegetable)
