• Happy pride month, xisters of the schlog!

Do you have family that fought in WW1/WW2

Do you know where they were drafted to? Would it have also been in China?
I'm actually not sure because grandma didn't really like talking about it but it was apparently when Japan started losing so probably somewhere in south east asia, that's where a lot of the drafted soldiers were sent

Adoptive grandfather was a marine in Vietnam and biological paternal grandfather was in the navy
Don't know of anyone older than about that era since I was adopted.

no WW2 but a lot fought in WW1 and Balkan Wars from my father side, one or two also died during Gallipoli

Grand grandparents fought on both sides. Such is a life being a pole in a war.

No because all the ascendents I know are from Brazil as well and we just don't like going to war

You guys still had a few thousand soldiers head to battle in the Second World War. Almost 1,900 of them perished.

True, but we never bothered with mass conscription at the time. Even if the Axis won WW2 we wouldn't be exactly affected by it since our government at the time (If you're interested, search: Getúlio Vargas) was neutral with all the countries involved. Really we only went on the US' side because we aligned politically with them and we would probably be bombed quite a bit if we aligned with Nazi Germany

You can still turn it around. Don't give up because you committed sins in the past, repent.
