That's true. But if we're talking about a world hundreds of years into the future, I don't think they would care in the same way that we do now. George Washington himself was a slave owner and I think a lot of people if they had the ability to time travel would go back in time to meet the man even in spite of this fact.

Fandoms: Yes. Also look at The Beatles fandom back in the '60s and tell me that wasn't a cult. Political Parties: Yes, they've become akin to faux-Religions. They stick to their political party so intensely and think so low of the other political party. Look at MAGA, they literally worship Donald Trump. It's sickening.
Scientology: Yes.
Corporations: It's a method of business, but given that the people in there are supposed to think a certain way that contributes to the greater company, and to make sure that process runs as smoothly as possible, I could see why people would think that's cultish behavior. Perhaps it is, perhaps it isn't.
