Why is everything getting progressively worse?

I don't mean this as a rhetorical question. We've all seen already how bad things are getting and how good they used to be, so my question is why? Was there an inciting event that caused everything after it to get bad? If I had to guess, social media is probably making everyone dumber and angrier which is why I feel this way. I just don't understand.

Gold standard and immigration restrictions got removed in the early 1970s, so that's why america sucks. I imagine the gold standard part hits harder in other countries where local government inflates but doesn't have the world reserve currency. Trade stuff too but I don't know much about it.

A lot of cultural failure is downstream of the world sucking because it is hard to live in. We would have better culture if smart creative people had more free time.

America is failing because you are selling your country to rich men and big corporations. Those same immigrants are there because you fucked their countries and then left it to anarchy so ofcourse they're going to flee to first world countries. Swallow your pride and get real for once.

Social media is more of a symptom than the cause. We have been getting increasingly stupider since the 1870s because our technological advancements have given the mentally, genetically unfit have more opportunities to thrive and have children, while the wealthy and comparatively intelligent can afford contraception and it's viewed as fashionable for them to be individualistic and not bear children. The Roman Empire fell for this exact reason.

Immigration is a contributor, but the decline is happening within the native population for the reasons I stated.

The gubmint was about to collapse in the 1920's due to the failures of capitalism, so the keynesians took power and make concessions to the working class to prevent a proletrian revolution. Inspired from the one that occured in the Russian Empire. This was called the New Deal and was orchestrated by the fascistic FDR. They used Chile as an experiment to see if they could do neoliberalism. Eventually, organized labor fell off and they realized that they didn't need to uphold those concessions anymore as the situation improved. NEOLIBERALSIM!!!!! And all the gains the working class made in the 20th century were eroded and that's why reformism can never work as the bourgeoisie will take any chance to ack us etc. etc.
