I did that for PLA since the game basically forces you to, which is a part of why I like Floatzel. Very very useful, I think, at least the Alpha one I had was. I don't always use Pokémon from other games when I play, but I've never been super strict on it, like if I did want to use something that wasn't native to the region.

Bro I need to play Legends Arceus so bad but I don't really play the spinoff games, spend 10 minutes in Pokepark 2 and you'll come out a changed man I'll tell you that. Generally I do like to try new because well I'm a calcified Unovafaggot so of course I like how that game does it but keeping that mindset brought me to greener pastures, usually, some gens aren't very compatible with that mindset (CC: 3, 4, 6) tho, I think the first time I beat Emerald I had 4 actual pokemon because I didn't want to catch any previous gen mon and I picked mudkip at the start of the game so the million water routes near the end of the game where I could get a new high level pokemon wasn't helping.

I might seem like a heavy Sinnohfag with the Gallade in my signature and whatnot but I like Gallade more because of the Hoenn remakes, even if it is a Sinnohmon. My brother also shilled it a lot when he and I were younger, which might have had an impact. I posted his cajunavenger chart on my profile earlier, which shows how some of the back and forth shilling impacted both of our tastes. I think Sinnoh has the most boring starter trio out of all the games, even up against modern stuff.

I mean yeah I had assumed that you were a Sinnoh guy but ORAS was not what was expected, I generally don't fw the remake games because they are usually too faithful and don't draw from the superior version but my exception is HGSS because despite it not doing much and I wanna lynch Lyra its better than the originals in a few ways and voltorb flip is literally my muse (thanks to so stupid SiivaGunner edit I associate Daft Punk with playing johto games), but going back to the Sinnoh starter thing, yeah it has the worst trio and that's no contest because they're all skank and ugly asf, besides the fact they're all crappy jobmon you shoot yourself in the foot if you don't choose the chimchar. The game with my favorite starter trio are probably GS because its the only time they went 3/3 even if Meganium would get put in the pokemon retirement home every playthrough. When I did that chart that one time I didn't like how it dealt with typing retcons (Clefairy is NORMAL type gamefreak ) I have some friends IRL who like pokemon but they're either autistic or tourists and my brother didn't get into pokemon like I did (if my first game SwSh I wouldn't've either geg) so I pretty much just liked whatever I found cool, cute, or interesting from reading the bulbapedia.
