• Happy pride month, xisters of the schlog!

What text editor or IDE do you use?

I been using Helix recently and it's good. I went vs code > vim > helix. Made switch from vim only because it required more work to set up while Helix ships with lsp by default and has a lot of themes included. But Helix is built in Rust which makes me suspicious.
you can use premade configs for neovim if you want a lsp

not true, ran butter smooth in my t480 with i5
of course you need to disable some shit, but they also recently made a bunch of performance improvements
that's not true I ran neovim with nvchad config and doom emacs on pentium m thinkpad in uni. Neovim didn't run smoothly it was laggy while doom emacs was ran perfectly. VS code would be completly unusable because the laptop was struggleing with firefox. Even on core2duo thinkpad firefox sometimes strugles with some websites so VS code would be very slow.

it's 2024 and not 2010, hardware today is pretty darn fast!

Congrats for being the first person on this website to mention that old ass processor. I forgot it even existed. You can't be possibly be daily-driving a decades old socket. 775 has long passed.
