It has been customized with i3wm, feh, mpv for animated wallpaper and polybar. As a linux user, I've never had to use anything else except for Ubuntu and I have no idea why you would use something that's not Ubuntu. If you need up to date unstable software, just download directly from github o algo.

Never heard of Devuan before but I'll consider it for the future if I ever need to change distros or try out a new OS.

As of now I use Mac OS X, but when I was using Linux I found that Linux Mint worked the best for me. If I were to ever use an x86 PC again I’d happily install Mint on it with Windows 10 LTSC as a backup
