Correct. Part of it is that soyteens are deeply offended or bothered by this kind of stuff more than anyone else on the internet. Site culture is kind of like an ecosystem. The giant weakness soyteens have for this stuff opens an extremely profitable niche for bait. Baiters evolve to fit this niche as it provides the most reactions. Liken it to spiders evolving to specialize in spinning orb webs. Once insects evolved flight, a niche opened for anything that could catch them in the air. Spiders evolved to spin webs in the air that functioned like nets and were hard to see, so that they could take advantage of all the flying insects passing through that area. These would be useless for catching ground insects that do not fly in the air, just like autism bait is useless for people who are not bothered by it.
On why soyteens are so weak to this I have my theories. In particular, I think it all stems from soyteens being autistic themselves. Firstly, one of the fundementals of autism is that autistic people have a tendency to be completely intolerant of random things to the point where exposure to them causes an strong emotional reaction. When I was in elementary school, we had an autistic kid who would absolutely lose his shit when you clicked your tongue (like those african tribesmen do). A completely harmless thing that wouldn't really bother anyone else but is intolerable for the autist. I believe this is called a trigger.
I think that autisic media is a trigger for autists on the internet. A specific type of autist at least. Obviously the media is called autistic for a reason, being that it seems that autistic people are drawn to it and make up the majority of their fanbases. Off the top of our heads, lets try and pick out some shared characteristics of the autisitic media we are talking about. I notice that there are often bright colors, its always animated, lots of cutesy characters, in many cases, especially with media we see most baitable on the sharty, female characters that are cutesy. Keep these in mind. What I mean to say is that the biggest trends I notice in autistic media, especially that which we may see as cringey, is one, childishness, and two, female characters prone to waifufaggotry. This is where my own experience comes into mind. I am an ex autist but also an ex chud. I devoured some autism slop while I turned my nose up and tried to see myself as above the rest. I was really hostile towards the stuff I wasn't into, especially stuff that was notable for being "cringe" such as mlp, furries, etc. I always felt insecure about being a wierdo for liking the things I liked, so the main reason I avoided or attacked stuff like furry shit and mlp was as a way of distancing myself from the autistic wierdo I was so afraid of turning into. I also noticed that with any media you could call autistic, there was a certain "pull" to it that always caught my autisic interest. As I mentioned before, autistic media attracts autists by nature. Anyways the pull I felt when seeing stuff I found as cringey and embarrasing terrified me and made me lash out at and avoid that media even more. I hated being attracted to anime characters. I hated that I was so intrigued by trivial childish things that nobody should care about (sound familiar?). I hated the fact that my attention could be hooked by any of it. I shit on other autists and made fun of them all the time, firstly because they uncomfortably reminded me of myself, and secondly because I was afraid that enough passive exposure to them would make me one of them. In other words I was a self hating autist projecting my fears onto others to avoid coming to terms with the fact I was wierd. I have since made peace with my autism for the most part. I recognize I like autistic stuff and thus no longer feel the need to prove to myself I am not a wierdo.
