Time travel is when you travel from the current point in time to the previous or next point in time. We are basically doing travel to the future always but this thread specifically talks about the crazy kind of course. This thread also will contain information on mental time travel which is daydreaming of time travel especially intensified by psychdelics.

Wormholes

Wormholes are basically tunnels between black holes or points in space-time providing a shortcut between those points. Think of an ant walking across a flat sheep of paper from the current point to the next point. If the paper is curved through 3rd dimension so the current point and the next point overlap, yoh can directly step from A to B saving more time.

Due to the fact that wormholes link moments in time aswell space, it is said that they using them you can go back to the past. There also have been amateur stabilization schemes for wormholes not yet confirmed to work. Wormholes are purely theoretical right now even if invented by Einstein himself.

Grandfather's Paradox

This is a classic. Imagine you are going back to the past to kill your grandpa due to some weird grudge or something but if you would kill him, you would never be born. But how are you alive if you are not actually born?

One solution is timelines. Basically, you create a new timeline when you kill your grandpa. Due to this, basically you wake up in a new timeline where you literally don't exist physically or mentally. A fate worse then death.

This is not the same as interdimensional travel as you wake up in the same dimension but with different outcomes.

This is literally the only feasible way this shit could actually work, by creating a new outcome you transport into a different version of reality of which that outcome exists in, I think multiple outcomes exist in idea only (like say if you chose the orange instead of the apple, what you did is the important thing, pondering on what would happen if you chose the apple instead of the orange is just a figment of your imagination and not a real outcome unless you made it so.)

I don't think they're a thing and if they are a thing that exists outside of science fiction, it's gonna take us eons before we ever encounter one firsthand, and I think it's one of those things where we're never actually going to get a soldified answer on what they are and how they operate, because the person on the other side is unlikely to return. It's almost like death in a sense, you'll never be able to understand it until it happens to you specifically, unless you enter a wormhole yourself you'll never know the true answer.
