• Happy pride month, xisters of the schlog!

Should the internet die?

what part of the internet makes it bad do you think?
Not so much reading information, but making new one.
Niggas shouldn't be able to post and publish words online under the age of like 14 or so, and before that you should have crash courses of does and don't, to avoid nasty ass places where you get groomed, be it in a sexual or ideological manner.

i think a lot of this could be curbed if people had to have their real name and face as an account
or just real name
people get too confident to post fake things or nasty things when things can’t be traced back to them

Nah anonymosity is an integral part of the internet.
It'd suck to have every single word you said, every single action you took, be associated to your real name.

Just, giving the internet, to me, is like giving a clueless mf some cocaine, or a gun or a car. Like apart from cocaine, you gotta know how to use this stuff, when and where et cetera.
Basically you don't do any of this stuff without training. Schools should do that without infringing on anonymosity

At least there should be a reform on how the internet is approached by the population.
I think schools should teach children the basics of does and don't in the internet, and I believe children should not get an unlimited access to it in the first place.
Disagree, we “learn” enough nonsense in school already. I don’t want to spend any more hours there than necessary, especially if their gonna be “teaching” unhelpful and obvious shit like “don’t talk to pedos online”

I ain't saying it should be 2 hours of lessons every week for the whole semester of a year, just saying some basic prevention would be a great addition to the practical side of school.
As you said a lot of school at school has no real purpose.
This on the other hand might have an immediate practical purpose.
"Don't fucking join weirs ass discord server"
"Don't buy everything you're presented with"
"Fix yourself a limit on your internet usage and know when to recognize that you have no control over x or y"
With concrete examples.

A lot of kids unironically would've benefited from such. And also this falls into another one of my beliefs, which is that there's no better doctor or therapist for you than yourself, therefore children should have a very short but basic teaching on psychology. Not pdycho analysis though just cognitivo-behavioural therapy.

Maybe, but I feel as though all of this is obvious stuff that everyone knows and so it wouldn’t be very helpful. I guess we need some scientific peer reviewed studies to be sure though, maybe kids react weirdly when told things by teachers

Yeah, I used to think like that but once you realize hiw clueless a big part of the population actually is, and how drug prevention courses actually work, you do sometimes wonder how the humal actually survived this long without going extinct

how else would u address the issue then - schools already train us for the internet. people can’t restrict themselves is what i’m saying and u can’t restrict forums cuz people will always find a way

Nah modern schools do a shit job at almost everything they're supposed to do.
It isn't because you sometimes talk about le interwebz that they actually teach you anything of value
