I mean makes sense considering rap is built off of different genres (f.e. funk, soul, r&b, etc)Hip Hop and Rap are sort of like Country in the sense that it works better when it's a fusion, where it has another genre to bounce off of. If it's 100% raw Rap or 100% raw Country, it's gonna suck balls.
It used to be built upon samples of genres past. Turntablism DJs and hip hop producers used to have good fuckin' taste in music and knew when to tastefully pick out a sample, now they've lost the groove and just make GarageBand beats with trap hi-hats and call it a day.I mean makes sense considering rap is built off of different genres (f.e. funk, soul, r&b, etc)
