Shit No One Cares About Is anyone else also really bad when it comes to remembering names in books?

I'm trying to read Father Goriot right now and I've already lost track of who is who by page 40. I'm thinking of writing a small guide for myself next time I pick up the book. It doesn't help that it's a really hard book to read because the author made it 300 pages long with no chapters or reddit spaces
