It's is very rare to see an internet meet up that is just a bunch of dudes hanging out and having fun and not a bunch degenerate faggots simping for some Honeypot or having an orgy now a days, not that I was fortunate to be able to go an actual normal meetup recently and have fun on July 4th. Is it just because most people who have some relationships online now are just sad terminally online faggots and trannies often raised online and lacking real world social skills due to how gay the internet is now and all the reasonable people who were friends online already became irl friends earlier? It just feels so rare now just for some friends who played vidya together or knew each other online to just be normal people who organize a meet up to just hang out and have fun.

I only have like two or three friends from the internet that I trust to that capacity, only because they're super down to earth about stuff with my brother and I, and I mean, they live in the same area as my brother and go to the same stores, so I guess calling them purely online friends is a bit of a stretch. Most internet people are just NOT good people, not in my view anyway. They're always obsessed gooners, violent assholes, or just generally not reliable at all, and even when they say one thing, you can never really be sure they mean it.

Perhaps it's just what people become when they have zero accountability, perhaps the internet is a big bunch of bad apples, or perhaps it's some kind of mix.

Schlog meetup in times square when

i think it has something to do with avoiding mental psychiatry all of you.

It doesn't help the current internet just helps to ampflify attention whoring behavoirs. The people I was with were genuinely just some dudes I knew for a few years when we were teens during COVID and then decided to finally meet up and it was a blast. I wish the internet was not just a shit hole for undesirables to hop in but that is what it is now and how it will be for the foreseeable future, it gets worse with this shit.

Most modern internet day meetups seem to be reenactments of ancient internet meetups with key differences. The point of the meetup is the act of meeting up itself, rather than discussing the website IRL. Attendees will likely care more about the fact that they made the effort to attend an event just because of something they read online, rather than what they actually did at the event. The meetup is almost necessarily inspired by previous meetups, otherwise it would either be more similar to an academic convention (see how wikipedia's meetups are extremely casual rather than what you'd expect from an academic website, thoughbeit one without a neutral point of view whatsoever), a video game launch party, or a chance encounter based on realizing that you visit the same niche website as someone you know IRL, which takes away the main "appeal" of internet meetups: You most likely don't know anyone who will be there.

Because it's easier to walk up to some random joe, talk with him for five minutes, and get his contact information, than it is to contact random schmoes online, have everyone plan for a get together, only for it to be uncomfortable and awkward once everybody gets there, and that's if the plans for fizzle out before then, either because people start canceling or just don't wanna go anymore because they're selfish little fucks.
