There's a book that I need for class and to have read part of by thursday(two days from now) and everything went wrong. So I went to the library to check out the single reserve copy of the book(which I assumed I would be able to keep until a week or two while I would buy an actual copy). But when I got the book, the librarian said that since it was a book for a course, I would only be able to have it for 2 hours. I realized that numbers of the rooms on the ground floor of the building were in the 400s, so I needed to get the librarian to show me a door in the corner of a hallway where the downstairs were(my class number is in the 200s.) I went into my classical civilization class(it's specifically about the history of ancient Israel), where she talked about how history from the past can impact the present. She brought up what's happening in Gaza, which I liked because it makes Jews mad.
She talked about how her excavation group's uncovering and moving of bones, which caused them to be protested by orthodox Jews(apparently they don't like the remains of anybody being disturbed). She showed us the remains of an ancient Jewish village and said being literate was a sign of being wealthy. I don't remember the exact words, but she said something along the lines of "to use a quote from Bernie Sanders, they're a part of "the 99%"". Kek. After this she made some claims about the bible, its accuracy, and its inerrancy(ChristGODS GTFIH). First, she claimed that archaeology in Israel was used for a long time in an attempt to prove the events that happened in the bible to be true. After which, she said that it was something that was "created by an elite"(I'm not sure what she means by this, I assume she thinks that Christianity was created by the romans to convert the Jews?).
Now back to the book. My older sister, who had been to this college, told me earlier that there was an on-campus bookstore where you could buy any of the books that were required for a course. I opened up google maps on my phone and walked for 10 minutes to get to the building(I didn't know where it was, and keep in mind it's almost 100 degrees outside). I walked through the cafeteria(which had chic-fil-a, middle eastern food, chinese food et cetera). I finally got to the bookstore, and found the shelves where the course-required books are. I walked over to the section of the shelf that had the author name I was looking for, and... there was no book there. An employee walked over while I was still standing there and asked me what I was looking for. I told him about the book, and he said that if it's not there, it's not in the back, meaning that there's no copies.
After that, I felt like shit, I had been walking for 15 minutes all for nothing, I was thirsty, and my stomach was rumbling, so I got some chic-fil-a. I got home drenched in sweat, and here we are now. My sister told me to just read it as a pdf.
