I FUCKING HATE THEM!
I recently (((((broke))))) my piece of shit that I got to replace the other piece of shit so I could have mobile data while not at home (Shocker!)
Would've been ok except as it turns out

1. The new phone I got (Jewgle Pixel 9 for 400 dollars that unlocks after 2 months) doesn't HAVE A GOOD FUCKING MUSIC APP UNLIKE THE SHITSUNG
2. It doesn't have a fucking headphone jack
3. The oldfag device I use to listen to music, at the same time, is dying rapidly (because it's 5 years old and phonetrannies make shitty devices that have 0 lifespan)

Why are they like this? The devices today are half as practical as the fucking 5 year old ones. No notification LED, (((the fucking fingerprint sensor is on the power button or under display instead of at the back WHERE IT BELONGS))), there's always some fucking tradeoff, and they don't even give the rated power adapter for the highest charging speed, even on laptop-priced hardware.
WHY ARE THEY LIKE THIS?

1. Most MP3 players are either audiophile bullshit running Android anyways or actually unusably cheap

however, my dad when he got his iphone some time earlier and before the new phone case arrived (citing that iphones 'just work' out of the box and are somehow more seamless in app design), he ended up breaking it within a few days of getting it because it had a glass backing, slid out of his hand like a greased-up pig, and then it broke because it was made of glass because of course it was. the people working at the phone company must truly be geniuses engineering for longevity, but shit like this makes me suspect that phone companies are making phones intentionally (or maybe as a consequence of the hysteria for thinner and thinner phones) brittle and hard to repair so you have to buy another one earlier. so they make more money, of course.

i had this issue on mine (the stock music app was complete shit and would pause after 10 minutes if the screen was locked, completely useless) so i found an alternate one. look into open source solutions for phone music apps, i chose on musicolet because the open source ones didn't work that well on my machine, sadly developed by a pajeet and not open source but at least its privacy respecting software. just accept that any new phone is going to have a fuckton of bloatware, especially now so i've heard manufacturers are baking in advertisements to the stock file browsers and camera apps

whats stopping you from buying an old-ass phone, then? personally once my cheapass $180 phone eventually dies, i might look into either getting another cheapass phone (i only need the phone to take photos and use a web browser, anyway) or i might look into those "rugged" phones marketed at people in manufacturing that can supposedly survive being run over by a tractor and have a bunch of dumbass techy shit i'd probably never use like ir blaster and thermal camera

Doesn't help when damage tends to be collisions with other hardware (Office work, connecting to laptop etc) or unlucky hits to the glass that penetrate screen protectors cause FML

Falsenvke, OneUI is still the best at that but Samsung hardware is now priced like antimatter and so is the ROM situation

The Note 9 was such a good phone, I love how in their marketing they kept toting how the Note 9 could take like 1TB MicroSD cards only for them to not even offer MicroSD on their latest phones, such a shame

Android is confusing in that OEMs can ship different Android ROMs with different themes that even have different features. It's like Linux DEs or something
