meh. ive only seen it in neo-tumblrites.Im talking about non-americans in general albeit
Everyone knows it’s the popular opinion no one is trying to be contrarians you coping countrycuckI have heard "I listen to every genre but I don't like country" from at least 15 people. It is just people trying to be contrarian but accidentally having the popular opinion
No one “obsessively hates it”.Like buddy I'm not a big fan but its not even that bad I don't understand why so many non-americans despise it so much.
It’s not that they sound similar, it’s a genre of course the songs on the same genre are gonna sound similarLike I get that a lot of the songs sound similar but that doesn't necessarily mean it’s a bad genre. I can't really understand the hate behind it unless it's nice with other genres
It's the white man's blues, and if there's one thing Black Americans got, it was there musical output from the 1930s-1970s.Like buddy I'm not a big fan but its not even that bad I don't understand why so many non-americans despise it so much.

There’s no one protesting in the streets against country music. We just don’t like it
It’s an exception because most genres have a couple dozen good artists/songs, whereas country has 0In all honesty most if not all genres are dogshit with only a few good artists/songs here and there, country isn't really an exception
i like amie by pure prairie league doewhereas country has 0
Just listened to it jts badi like amie by pure prairie league doe
no you didn't it's a 4 minute songJust listened to it jts bad
It was also competing with other genres like Blues, Bluegrass, Rockabilly, while competing against genres like R&B, Easy Listening, and eventually Crooner music, etc.Country is one of those genres where it's best in small doses or is being fused in with another genre, it can't really stand on it's own hence why nobody actually gives a shit about real country (the old shit), while almost everybody now listens to the fusion shit (country rock, country rap, country etc).
This is a phenomenal song, but it's not country, it's just typical late '60s pop with a hint of country, vocally speaking.
And as wonderful as Patsy Cline is you could sort of say the same about this tune, though the country elements are much more potent on this track.
