Meds + sproke you can't pass on genetic diseases you don't have the genetics for (so all monogenic disorders) and the kid could just filter recessive genes later when they have their own kids anyway.
Also this isn't even abortion. These aren't fetuses, these are embryos they are testing and disposing of. I know the difference might not matter to some religious people but it is misleading for the rest of people.
I would rather give my kids some of my higher-IQ genes than leave them none with a bad roll of the dice.
Anti-eugenic imagery often depends on boring uniformity. A master race where everyone is a carbon copy and there aren't any interesting people with unique predispositions. This isn't a very suitable argument against embryo selection because there is only a mild directional selection, and with not nearly everyone doing it we aren't likely to lose some hidden benefits of the genes contributing to mental disability anytime soon. The only really bad situations are like "what if the kids who are helped thrive too hard and me and my kids suck?" Like if we need to stop economic pressure from forcing everyone to do it we can give tax breaks to people who do less/no selection, bearing more of the burden of genetic diversity for the entire population.
