Discussion game recommendation thread

I used to play the original doom and doom II a lot but I prefer Quake. I used steam for HL since it was free on there for the anniversary but I pirated quake and both dooms
support le developers or something
anyways the only other suggestion i have is something like deus ex, thief gold, thief ii, system shock. amazing immersive sims.

So many things were RUINED in DD2. I feel like they delibrately designed this game to insult and mock the previous fanbase. Firstly, darkest dungeon was a near perfect formula. It didn't need massive overhauls or anything close to that. All it needed was more content. The black reliquary fangame(you download it as a mod, but its an entire fangame, kinda like a romhack) is a much better (minus the fact that it is ruined by its trihard difficutly and coomertroon fetishism from the DD modding community that infected its art direction(there are femboys, a whole dungeon dedicated to the developer's conan barbarian woman fetish, and every woman has giant cowtits.)) game in that it keeps the framework of DD1. DD2 feels like a shitty mobile spinoff of darkest dungeon made by another studio. The complete removal of the hamlet was a horrible idea, the complete TRANSiton to rougelike slop where you lose every character after a couple hour """""playthrough"""" was a horrible idea, the removal of the affliction system to instead focus on a relationship (obscenely gay and unfitting of the setting for this game) was a horrible idea. Who the fuck saw the virtue/affliction barks in DD1, a conditional feature that only happens when a hero is pushed to their absolute limit, and decided that not only the whole game needs to throw out the affliction virtue system, but it needs to completely structure itself around these barks and actouts, but SPECIFICALLY in the form of petty ((relationships)) between individual characters. Now the whole game is about managing the relationships of characters you will never see again after an hour or two like they are a bunch of petty overemotional women. Fucking awful idea. They also felt the need to strip us of the actual dungeon crawling part of the game too! Now you are just on a oregon trail track you run into things every now and then on. You don't get to strategize what things you will come back to later and where you will go first, because you can ONLY go foward and chose one path. And to make things even more annoying, they placed caps on any healing you could do, and they did a bunch of other shit to restrict gameplay to exactly the way THEY intended you to do it.
>No chud, you're just supposed to stack combo points on bad guys, not heal or play defensively! I know we could tune the enemies to discourage that playstyle but thats too much work so we'll just artificially cap your heal move uses AND not let you top your character's health off!

You gotta go to designated LORE buildings so you can get muh designated LORE drops about the personal lives of your characters class so you can unlock new moves! Come on chud, don't you want to do the same thing over and over again so you can level up your player level and unlock SANDWICHES instead of just moldy bread as a possible loot item? What do you mean thats not engaging or worth investing time in?

dd1 is the GOAT but I like dd2 too

tbh I just cheated in dd2 and gave myself infinite candles to make the gameplay fun
I'm not gonna play with some shitty character just to unlock their moveset
