I've noticed that there are some interesting similarities in some FinnGOD classics (Moomin, Donald duck, Silver fang).
For example Gin and Moomintroll are very similar characters. As my brother put it, 'Gin is like Moomintroll but without any negative qualities'. Also John and Snufkin are similar. Not in personality of course. But by the fact that both are older, cool, male figures that are close friends and a sort of guide to the protagonist. Also there are similarities in their designs. The colorscheme of Gin and Moonintroll are both white and blue (I know that for Gin it's technically grey but in practice it has a white-blue impression) and both of them are slightly smaller than the average troll/dog, due to their young age. While both Snufkin and John are clad in earth tones.
Also Sniff and Hyena are similar characters. In essence, both are greedy cowards. Also both posess large, thin ears. And both seem to have relatively little fur.
Gohei Takeda I think is most comparable to Uncle Scrooge. As in both are old, somewhat isolated, frugal and harsh male figures in positions of authority and prestige. Also both are alpha-male gigachads. It also happens that John D Rockerduck is way more liberal with spending money than Scrooge. Thus he is comparable to Hidetoshi Sekiguchi, who spends more than Gohei. Also Gohei and Hidetoshi are enemies in the beginning, and Rockerduck and Scrooge are enemies (albeit they never reconciled). Also the initial relationship (not the characters) of Gohei and Hidetoshi could be comparable to the relationship of Donald Duck and Gladstone Gander. As in, a faggier, richer character mogging our character.
