Battle of Hampton Roads. Took place in early 1862 and was the first time two ironclad warships fought each other. The Confederacy literally took a scuttled Union warship, chopped the upper parts of the burnt hull off, and added a shit ton of armor to it.
Both ships spent several hours firing at each other with not damage damage being dealt.

It's funny how America bitched spain hard as fuck in the Spanish-American war. Spain was all like "Please master, don't rape me... I'll give you florida!" and America still did some falseflag and raped Cuba away from them.
