What the heck is a "GAN"?

Generative-Adversarial Network. The most popular type of "AI" that generated images before newer techniques like Stable diffusion were created around 2021.
Also pure GANs could generate faces, but if you wanted to train it on some more complex datasets like people with cars and buildings you would get a lot more scary objects almost everywhere.
