I doubt the idea of an eternal soul since consciousness can be pretty well understood by the brain. With personalities changing and such after sustaining brain damage.
the theory that the brain is just an antenna for some qualia force (filter theory of consciousness) makes more sense to me
i mean if you take a hammer to your tv box and then dump water on it its going to start showing static no shit, but that doesn't mean its still not broadcasting wheel of fortune reruns

Why does it make more sense to you? There's no proof that it is acting as an antenna, and there is no proof that a "qualia force" exists.

It seems more likely that as the function of the brain is disturbed, changes will occur since as far as we know it is the origin of consiousness. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it seems less likely.
