I took Spanish in high school and was absolutely horrible at it, nothing ever clicked in my head and constructing sentences wasn't possible. About halfway through I just started cheating, feel kinda bad but yeah.
However I have noticed that German seems to be a lot easier and to be honest I wish I took that instead. While watching a video of some pig farmers from Germany, I was kinda able to decipher sentences from context and cognates, and by the end I could jerry-rig a few sentences together (albeit of poor quality). I'm not saying that I could learn that language at even a basic level, but the giant monolithic brick "wall" I experienced with Spanish wasn't there. I know this is kinda stupid sorry
