This tag connotates the discussion as something much more serious than a regular Serious tag.

Seems like it only affected the webmail service though. stop using webmail and use a mail client like thunderbird.

Barely even a "hack", just change your password just in case and if you're really paranoid, use Tor or Mullvad VPN while storing your emails via POP3.

Still gives me more reason to attempt to self-host email soonish, but I already have good reason if I want a cool @digitalcheese.xyz email anyways

My main email is literally from a Dial-Up Internet service and doesn't even encrypt emails. But I'm an oldfagerino and that's how I like it.
I currently use an AOL as my IRL normie mail as it was funny and still better than Jewgle, but I'm thinking of just getting another domain and self-hosting normie emails for me and my frens, perhaps family too if they're willing to use such a service. I would have to figure out hosting two email services on the same network, but I can probably figure out a way to route digitalcheese.xyz traffic over a VPS as to hide my real IP address anyways and go from there. My current plan is to basically get rid of all my emails except an email for purchasing domains under my real name (aol?), my digital cheese emails, and any email which is self-hosted as it is very easy to get domains these days even without giving your real information if you're careful. NameCheap accepts even TextNow numbers with little "verification", so I often just use that.

If you don't mind sharing such service, what dial-up internet service did you get your email from?

It's Juno, which is the same as NetZero. Back when I still had a copper landline I'd use it to access the web every time my dad unplugged the router. But ever since my parents wanted to get rid of the landline and I ported it over to VoIP.ms, I've just been using it as my main email as it was the most professional one I had.
