Caught her when we were home alone and took her to the sofa to come out.
Guess what? She wasn't the slightest bit surprised because she KNEW I was transgender. She knew it for years!
I don't even know how. Maybe she looked at my search history or she secretly saw me that one time I tried makeup when I was 16.
She told me she didn't have any problems with it personally, but that I shouldn't destroy my body with surgeries and hormones. She even brought up the suicide rates (Don't ask me how the fuck an almost 60 year old boomer knows that). I told her I already decided to do hormones, and she said she thought it was a bad idea but that she wouldn't stop me from it. She also told me I'm doing this because I want to be treated like a girl rather than actually be one, i.e. not have to handle the same problems men do. I tried to tell her it was more about the physical aspect, but she wouldn't believe that part.
It was all extremely casual too. It's like she already prepared for this conversation a long time ago.
I'm a bit confused, but also relieved. Honestly this is the best case scenario I could have realistically expected. My father apparently doesn't know yet (and I'm a bit concerned about him, he's extremely chuddy) but other than that the only thing in the way of transitioning now is waiting for the prescription. I'm looking forward![Wholesome [wholesome] [wholesome]](/data/assets/smilies/wholesomeheart1.gif)
