Let x represent the height of the owl.
Let y represent the height of the tree.
From the first image, we can conclude that:
x+y=230.
from the second image, we can conclude that:
y-x=200.
so we get these equations:
x+y=230,
y-x=200.
Eliminate y by subtracting the 1st from the 2nd.
(x+y)-(y-x)=230-200
Expand parentheses.
x+y-y+x=30
x=15
Therefore the height of the owl is 15.
