The first Christian council ever was specifically about whether gentiles could take part in the religion. (Council of Jerusalem) The council decided that Gentiles who converted to Christianity were not obligated to keep most of the rules prescribed to the Jews by the Mosaic Law, such as Jewish dietary laws and other specific rituals, including the rules concerning circumcision of maleschristianity derived from judaism tho and was also considered a sect of judaism in the early stages of christianity.
christianity also incorporates jewish tradition to its religion.
Ironically, the one responsible for removing most Jewish elements from Christianity was St Paul who used to be a pharisee
