What he goons to?

For IT they'll always need people to keep things in check and more importantly people to make sure all the cables connections and systems are working properly
But yeah desk jobs are on the way out for various reasons
I think that almost all of good-paying jobs are always in companies which are relatively close to the banks or the government (close to the money printer), so money flows easily to them, but on the other side it devalues other, more useful professions. Like some science-promoting youtuber said: finance jobs are draining talents who could discover something meaningful in STEM.
I'm not saying that IT jobs are useless, but in many cases it is some bank or government ordering some application that is intended to make their work easier, but often it makes bureaucracy grow. Ofc the client can be some machine producer and for me that is more useful.
I'm working in some French IT company which is close to the French and EU government, so I think the money flow is certain, but their debt is massive and now they are laying off people. Aldoe I'm the only backend developer in some important internal application, so I won't probably be fired any time soon.
