With how frail Gengar is, obviously no. Ghost curse isn't even a meme, only fits extreme anti meta playstyles which is kind of gay for playing solo
I've read of a singular case where curse could be a menace and that's when you have a mon with forest curse which turns the target into a ghost type, that target must use curse that turn and must move last, so when it uses curse when it's a ghost type it cuts its health in half then lose another 1/4th at the end of the turn due to how gen 6 treated curse at the time
Not too bad honestly. Even when you don't use healing items and play on set I feel like the only trainers who put up a decent fight are Blue and Red, the latter of which only does so because he's ridiculously overleveled. In my case it was also exacerbated by the fact I only used Poison 'mons (I also got raped by Will a couple of times because all his Pokemon have Psychic).
