It is very much a shoegaze track. Beabadoobee is a genre-bending artist who makes bold and original music that doesn't follow any rigid formulas. As such, her music is never going to appeal to stodgy purists who only listen to one kind of music and have strict rules about what qualifies as that particular kind of music.
