This is the shit that killed Linux for me. People are too obsessed with snca instead of actually adding features or fixing bugs. Wayland is still shit and X11 is a rotting fossilized carcass

If you love tinkering nonstop and not getting anything done, Linux is for you. If you like having abysmal support and or constantly use wine for everything, it's also for you. If you don't care about politics, it's not for you. If you want Linux to improve and be up to date with modern standards, get the fuck out already

I'm staying on Windows until these niggers get their shit together and start implementing modern features and bugfixes instead of jerking off over LE TRANNY FOX or whatever the fuck the unwashed contributors do

I've had problems with X11. Reliable is literally far from true. You update your system and suddenly it refuses to launch X11. It's simply not worth troubleshooting. The only problems I had with Wayland is Hyprland and that's because it's shitty and fucks up easily

are you sure that's x11 and not your window manager or desktop environment i think

A problem with Wayland is that it's devs i think tend to be more leftist and bad then x11 devs wayland can be buggier and maybe break more then x11 also nvidia and maybe other companies don't want and or are too lazy to make drivers for wayland i think

It's unstable. I think it uses it's own Hyprland which breaks every update. If there weren't technical problems it would be the best window manager

marge what are your specs? It was pretty stable for me. Also, yeah it has a modified version of Wayland or something
btw vaxry also made hypr which uses x11 but I'm not sure if it's still maintained

My specs are fine. AMD CPU, Nvidia GPU... Fuck, okay you got me. I use Nvidia and not an AMD gpu, but why should I be forced to buy a new gpu just to use a supposedly free OS and kernel?

Linux is only viable for IT work. For everyone else they'd have to dualboot or use wine for 90% of their workflow and at that point why would they jump through the hoops? I don't get why people feel so superior for using it, it's like r/atheism of operating systems.
