Yeah usually if you're alone and have a pet it's because you brought one with you or you've lived in a household where it's almost self evident

It's also horrifying thinking about what would happen if you had a heart attack while in your sleep. Your pets would be fucked when you're living alone

Either they eat you, or they starve
But some animals can survive without eating up until your ill fated wellness check happens
They're pretty much garunteed survival if you die in place accessable to them

Nobody in my immediate family has had a dog or a cat in any form of pet my whole life, cats are much more my speed.
