You probably didn't even know the shlog had ads because they will not appear if you are logged in, and when registering you more than likely had adblock so you just never saw them. I know I didn't, but I decided to visit the Shlog from my tablet for whatever reason and there is no adblock on there and I discovered this gem of an ad caked webpage.

I decided to do the same thing on desktop (turn off adblock and log out) and its more of the same

I think its just google ads but I think its funny how inundated this website is with ads I guarantee almost nobody sees.

Google has done years and years of data harvesting on me just to try to sell me mattresses and litter boxes so I don't think algorithms work very well. I just think its funny that F/Broot decided that adding ads to the forum was good idea even though literally everyone uses adblock (I guess you might as well try to get some money out of the schmucks who don't ¯\_(ツ)_/¯), its fine though as long as no stupid captcha comes to the blog.

It doesn't have any effect on account users, so it seems like an absolute positive for us. In addition, it's just more encouragement to get new users to make an account if they're currently lurking, so we could get some new people.
