Thats a fair point, but it's hard to blame people for not making high effort/operation/serious threads when they are drowned out by a deluge of shit threads or are derailed right away. If serious threads get no traffic, there is little incentive to make them. Maybe the solution is "make better threads", but if it was that simple it would already be done (or the userbase here is so bad we can't make any good threads anymore).

Let me try to explain it with an example. Let's say Goldy made 10 quality OPs (not saying he did but let's just pretend). Only 1 of those threads became active and the other 9 were not even noticed. In that scenario, you either made bad threads (which we are pretending isn't the case here) or outside factors prevented those inactive 9 threads from gaining traction. Maybe the reaction many people have is to just leave the site, but the others (like this hypothetical goldy) choose to try and fix the issue. If you are not staff or sucking off staff, the only way you can try to actualize change is through making threads pointing out the issue and whining. That hypothetical situation probably illustrates the gist of the situation. Maybe "Goldy" should just leave. Maybe "Goldy" should find a new place to post. Maybe "Goldy" should spend his time elsewhere. Maybe "Goldy" should except that things are the way they are and post high effort OPs knowing the odds of it being noticed are low. However, he did not, and if he did do any of those other options, you wouldn't even notice. Instead, he did whine, and you did notice.

Wild how that works. When I first started posting here, people like jimbo were jannied. There is nothing wrong with drama but allowing users to spam the site with inane faggot bullshit all day does the site no favors. There was bait, but people who derailed threads and ruined site quality couldn't hide behind the "bait excuse". The Gegbvlls we used to have, like blackhawk and nagolbud's number 1 fan, were given extra leeway for their actions because they were funny shizos we added to the site. Even then, they were jannied when need be. For the past few months, there has been little quality control which is why pretty much every /you/ thread for the past few months with traffic has been drama dogshit. I'm not saying the site was ever a hub of deep thought or even the pinnacle of the soysphere, but it wasn't bs. We had funny threads. We had threads where we discussed and took part in operations. We had threads where we made jaks. We even had some cool deeper threads. We had word word word SNCA threads, that people took part in. That was the type of thread that kept good posters involved in the site. Maybe my point of view of the site was skewed and this is always how it's been, but the site seems to have gone from a legit blogposting site to a drama echochamber.
