From what I understand it functions as more of an umbrella term than an actual genre because 100 gecs and the tranny known as "SOPHIE" both fall under this category, but it essentially sounds like a more modern/updated version of eurodance mixed with techno and Skrillex-era dubstep and tranime electronica.

It's an overstimulating genre of shit.

Apparently Hyperpop and Phonk started in the early 2010s, but were only popularized within this decade. The fact that the 2020s will only remembered musically speaking for popularizing two equally shitty genres is pathetic and shows how much people don't actually give a shit about music anymore.
