Very serious Gender thought experiment.

This tag connotates the discussion as something much more serious than a regular Serious tag.

Let’s say we have a normal fetus with XY chromosomes but there is a mutation in its SRY gene causing the XY fetus to show female alleles despite its Y chromosome. This hypothetical person would look identical if they had XX chromosomes down all the way to the vagina, the only difference being the SRY defected one is infertile. Is this a woman?

it is a woman, because it contains biological ovaries and womb (albeit nonfunctional)

NAWWW BLUD THIS THREAD IS FROM @Cobbert-land 😭😭😭

First I would stress that sex and gender are distinguished here.
This person‘s gender is completely unknown. Probably going to be female since they look like on and will be raised as one.
The sex? I don’t know. I’m not a biologist.

I learned this in biology. Each different mutation is accounted for and categorized as male or female despite the abnormalities. I can't be fucked to actually look up the chart THOUGH

I try to hide the facts for the sake of drama but it’s Swyer Syndrome and I think it’s almost always female unless there’s something else in play.
