Very often when I talk with other people about their familial affairs or their childhood, I get the impression that most parents and siblings are retards.
In my case this is not so at all. My parents are both physicists, so high-iq people. Also they are rich as a result. My parents did not do any arbitrary unjust bullshit when raising me and my brother. They treated us fairly, sponsored our hobbies (to an extent), taught us morals and lessons they thought to be important and generally made wise decisions. Also me and my brother got significantly more freedom than other children, though my parents also disciplined us and tried to shape us into being responsible people. Despite being rich, we didn't live richly. My parents taught us to use money rarely. Often I have been roasted by much poorer classmates than me for living more frugally.
I also have a great relationship with my brother. We didn't really bicker with each other, except maybe when we were young. During sauna, dinner and the evening meal me and my family talk with each other about interesting stuff, like philosophy, theology, politics, aesthetics, current events, etc. My family are way closer and know more about me than any of my friends or any internet people. The quality of discussion with my family is higher than any other place I've been to, even though we all hold radically different opinions on fundamental issues.
I was insanely lucky how I was born. I was born in a prosperous country to rich and moral parents. And I was born a male (the superior sex) and I have good genes.
Of course there are a few issues(the biggest and only one I care about being that they're all atheists), as with everything human related, but overall I am extremely lucky.
