Serious Is Encyclopedia Dramatica really that bad?

While I am only 29 years old, I am still older than 99% of the people on here and, as such, I am old enough to remember the original ED. Its "ironic" sadism and degeneracy was basically just the precursor to the modern-day foodists. ED walked so that foodists could run.

Whether this sort of "ironic" sadism and degeneracy is being done by teenagers or by fortysomething millennials shouldn't make any difference. It's still the same foodist antimatter.

I can't comment on the community of the site, but most of the actual articles really aren't that good. If you've seen one ED article you've pretty much seen them all. All of them rely on being shocking/unrestrained to provide entertainment value, and while this is highly effective on most people (even beyond normalfags, yes) it has a very short "half-life" and each article after the first one you read becomes exponentially less funny and more bland.

Here's the ED article for pigs:

They're fat, forbidden to eat by Judaism and Islam, can be used as an insult to refer to law enforcement, and get abused. That's about it, there's nothing novel or interesting presented here. Most people already know everything that mentioned. It feels like this was written by an angsty 14yo autist who's pissed off about having to make a poster about an animal for biology class, thinking he'd be a heckin' BADASS when it just comes off as embarrassing to everyone else. Not the best example but I'm tired.

She became disgusted with what ED had turned into, planned to rebrand it as a heavily toned-down site called WhatPort80, and then nuked ED and created a new Know Your Meme clone called OhInternet, which completely flopped. Someone else, of course, created a new ED, and ED then started its process of repeatedly going down and relaunching on new servers.
