Shit EVERYBODY Cares About! Book of Mormon

You WILL care!
A lot of them don't even read the book they're just playing some fucked up version of telephone. I had le abusive jack-mormon family and the amount of times I had to correct them on their own scriptures is sickening
Give me an example of what you consider correct and what mormons do wrong or whatever

Crazy how Joseph made bible fanfiction and now we gotta take his cult seriously.

>No coffee or tea
The word of wisdom, where this comes from, doesn't actually mention coffee or tea. The only thing close would be:
"And again, hot drinks are not for the body or belly." Doctrine and Covenants 89:9
My handler also had a spiel about "addictive substances" specifically xhe tried to compare everything to marijuana; the word of wisdom condemns tobacco and alcohol but not "addictive substances" explicitly, and weed (unless you're a nigger about it) likely isn't a sin either considering both the Bible and BOM specify that all herbs were put here by God for us to use:
"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat." Genesis 1:29
"Yea, and the herb, and the good things which come of the earth, whether for food or for raiment, or for houses, or for barns, or for orchards, or for gardens, or for vineyards; Yea, all things which come of the earth, in the season thereof, are made for the benefit and the use of man, both to please the eye and to gladden the heart; Yea, for food and for raiment, for taste and for smell, to strengthen the body and to enliven the soul. And it pleaseth God that he hath given all these things unto man; for unto this end were they made to be used, with judgment, not to excess, neither by extortion." Doctrine and Covenants 59:17-20
>Muh polygamy!!!!
Essentially they believe purely in monogamy unless God/a prophet specifically tells someone to do otherwise (like would have been the case with Joseph Smith). I don't feel like writing allat so for the botheredDEITIES that are interested I'll link here and here.
"Wherefore, my brethren, hear me, and hearken to the word of the Lord: For there shall not any man among you have save it be one wife; and concubines he shall have none; For I, the Lord God, delight in the chastity of women. And whoredoms are an abomination before me; thus saith the Lord of Hosts." Jacob 2:27-28
>They hate the heckin lgbthivaids queers!
Everyone does, they're just honest about it. Most of the missionaries and whatever I've ever talked to made sure to clarify that "homosexual activity" is forbidden so make of that what you will.
>Joseph Smith... LE BAD!
Considering he was a human and a mortal, and there's actually some evidence backing this up, Joseph Smith definitely did shitty things. All Mormonism really claims is that he was a prophet and he did translate the golden plates or whatever, I don't think they worship him the way vaticucks do the Pope
>Forcing other people to cater to their cucked version of mormonism
This isn't even a Mormon-specific problem but it pisses me off anyways
"As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand." Romans 14:1-4

>Muh polygamy!!!!
Joseph Smith on his way to tell his followers to give him their wives cuz G-d said so or something

>Joseph Smith... LE BAD!
Actually, he gets scolded by God pretty often in the book, so this point would be entirely nonsensical. But Doctrine and Covenants does say he's the best person ever save for Jesus IIRC

Actually, he gets scolded by God pretty often in the book
Doesn't that...prove my point? Like I said Smith definitely wasn't a perfect (or even good, depending on who you ask) person and was very likely involved in some raisin behavior

Did you even read what I said?
>so this point would be entirely nonsensical.
I.e., it would be nonsensical to claim it as a refutation of Mormonism.

From Joseph Smith:

"I understand that some of the people are excusing themselves in using tea and coffee, because the Lord only said 'hot drinks' in the revelation of the Word of Wisdom. Tea and coffee are what the Lord meant when he said 'hot drinks.'"

No coffee or tea is the correct doctrine.

But I'm pretty sure herbal tea is fine because Genesis 1:29

Also the book of mormon says you shouldn't eat meat unless it's winter or you're in a famine
